About me

Autumn Shanti Brown

Hi, I am Shanti

Autumn has lived in the Gunnison Valley for most of her life. She enjoys hiking, rafting, skiing and finds true peace in the outdoors. She has been a fitness trainer, studies nutrition and was introduced to yoga at a very young age, given the spiritual name “Shanti” by Swami Satchidananda.

Autumn’s passion about yoga shows up in her teachings. Through intelligent, mindful sequencing, Autumn has the ability to take her students deeper into their practice, physically, mentally and spiritually.

Autumn completed her 200 hr certification with Yogworks and finished her 500 RYT in Goa India with Joan Hyman. She also has 25hrs in Yin and certifications through Smart Flow with Annie Carpenter. Autumn continues to study with Joan Hyman at The School of Yoga

My Story

My yoga journey has been unique, in the sense I was born into it. I lived on Satchidananda Ashram in Putnam Connecticut, when I was very little. My parents studied Integral Yoga and my mom taught Hatha Yoga. We then moved to Denver and my parents continued to surround themselves and us kids with Swami Satchidananda and Mischala Devi at the Integral Yoga Institute. I remember vividly waiting outside Devi’s room while she finished meditating. These memories left an imprint on my life but like we all know we grow up. I became a mom at 18 years old, yes,  it had its challenges but was the best thing that has ever happened to me.  My son is my biggest gift in this life.

Due to some severe injuries (which left me restless) and unable to do much. I found myself going to my first yoga class. After that class, I knew I found my path. I never looked back from there. I took my first 200 hrs in Fruita Colorado and a few years later finished my 500 hrs in Goa India with The School of Yoga and Joan Hyman. I will be a forever student and feel blessed to have found this beautiful practice, yoga is my home!

I currently live in Gunnison Colorado, a beautiful mountain town where I surround myself with nature and tranquility. Nature is a place I’m able to slow down and connect to a deeper sense of myself.

Living Divinity

Divine expression, intimate impression, the source and product radiate absolute being as our heavenly home and permanent factor. Beloved being, divine embrace revealing. Loving essence has shown, each need is as our own.

Gracious caress has shown, each contribution sustains our home. Humility frames the ego's context, and its misguided display, that denies us our best.

Fear and despair compel the notion, that safety can be found, in the dispelling ocean. lnvocations prepare, the inspiration to care and the vision and means to share.

Devotional immersion in the radiant source, endears communion, splendor and awareness, throughout life's course. Nurtured opening unveils the accord and sustains the renewal the expressive dynamic affords. Universal regard and becoming intention, engage the cherished knowing, in the indivisible dimension.

Devotional vessels of sacred fabric, channel actualization of purity, power, presence and intention. Each moment awakened, delusion forsaken, for though art divine in divine remain, it is our collective duty, seek not as though gain.

  • As our breath is near, so our divinity is always near.

  • As our breath draws in, so our nourishment is drawn.

  • As our breath gives forth, so shall we give forth.

  • As our breath seems lost, so our sacred home is found.

  • As our breath is renewed, sd shall life be renewed.
